Cauliflower and Chard Cheese with Ham

Cauliflower Cheese is such a comforting old stalwart, and I 'pimped' this one a little today with some chopped chard and little pieces of chopped ham.  A creamy cheese sauce, enlivened with a good 'poke' of hot English mustard, and cheesy breadcrumbs on the top make for a warming and tasty supper!

  1. I usually add zucchini n broccoli to cauliflower, chard sounds a good idea.

  2. I had broccoli in the house too, but the chard gives a really nice texture - I chop the stems and cook with the cauliflower florets, and then shred the green leaves and cook with the rest of the veg just for a minute at the end. I kept the cooking water, too, as it has a good light veg flavour to make some carrot soup tomorrow.

  4. Hi Pistachio and Rose! Welcome! Do give it a go, the chard stalks and leaves add another dimension to the dish - with or without the ham
